Our Story
Moving to New York City in 2001, EROE Founder and Chief Executive Officer Tiana Ravden found herself coping with more than just the fast pace of the city. The humidity and the poor ventilation on subways posed a challenge like no other — underarm perspiration stains to her clothes.
The problem wasn’t that Tiana sweat more than normal. The problem was a missing layer of comfortable, seamless and effective protection between her underarms and shirt sleeves.
She changed deodorants. No luck. She tried wearing “pit pads”, uncomfortable and ineffective. Her doctor proposed Botox, extreme and expensive. Or an oral medication to suppress her sweat glands, not an option she wanted to consider. She tried the sweat absorbing T-shirts, bulky, hot and impractical.
Many months (and many ruined shirts) later, Tiana figured it out in the spur-of-the-moment while troubleshooting her Saturday night outfit.
She wanted to wear a “wow” silk dress, one of those dresses made for a Manhattan night on the town. But she was afraid to wear it knowing that she (and her expensive dress) would be vulnerable to underarm perspiration droplets and stains, which translated into an unwearable dress and wasted dollars.
And then it came to her — she cut an undershirt like a bolero — cropped it to her bra line and cut the sleeves to cap the shoulder — and wore it connected to her bra. It was seamless and comfortable, and it worked.
Thus, the EROE bra concept was created.
